State of Hawaii H2 Working Group Appoints Lamplighter CEO to Board
September 24, 2015
Earlier this year Governor Ige, State of Hawaii, signed into law a 100% renewable energy mandate to be achieved by 2045. Part of the energy solution is a move to Hydrogen (H2) as an automotive fuel and electricity storage (Power to Gas). In an effort to achieve this goal the government enacted a state sponsored working group to promote the growth of the Hydrogen industry locally.
Stan Osterman, Director of HCATT was selected as Chairman and appointed Mr. André De Rosa to serve on the committee. Mr. De Rosa's experience in renewable energy, hydrogen installations and project finance round out the skill set of experienced Educational & Industry members.
The committee's focus is growing beyond advising state lawmakers on policy and encouraging the implementation of the State's Hydrogen Roadmap, to working towards identifying growth sectors for the application of Hydrogen as a fuel locally. As well as his work with the committee, Mr. De Rosa will work with Finance and Insurance sectors in Hawai'i to increase the financial support for projects owned and operated locally.
"With this groundbreaking legislation, I'm proud to serve my community and support our legislators as we move to an energy market that truly respects our 'aina and heritage while improving the local economy" R. André De Rosa.
